What

Graded Scratch Race Riders are graded on ability (A-F, Div.1-n) and compete within those grades.
In this format of racing nouse is as important as strength as tactics and stratergies are employed.
Handicap All riders are competing against each other. Riders are grouped on ability with groups being released in a staggered start, slower riders being given a head start, the fastest riders released last.
In this format of racing the members of a group (or 'mark') work together to catch the groups ahead and to stay away from the chasing groups behind until the final couple of kilometres when it becomes a race for the finish
Time Trial A race against the clock, riders being released individually at a set interval.
These events are usually handicapped with a pre-determined time deducted from the competitor's final time.
Age Based Race Championship races are conducted in age groupings, usually five-year blocks;
- 30-34 (women only),
- 35-39,
- 40-44,
- etc.
